In the January Edition of this pack, your first grade students will cover the following skills:
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Reading commonly used words for first graders
Phonemic Awareness: Determine initial blends and digraphs
Punctuation: Trace and write sentences; add correct ending punctuation
Singular & Plural: Create plural nouns with s and es.
Contractions: Create contractions with two smaller words.
Compound words: Identify and define compound words
MATHEMATICS:
Making a Ten: Break apart tens and use a model to demonstrate understanding.
Skip Counting: Pattern by twos, threes, fives and tens
Find and Tally: Count objects and record them with tallies
Telling Time: Work on time to the hour and half hour
Addition and Subtraction Review through 20
Counting on and Counting back through 120
