This 45 page download includes 20 days of morning work in both language arts and math. The packet is set up in groups of five. The first four pages are for basic skill review. The fifth page is always a review page and has a fun coloring extension as well!
Description
In the April Edition of this pack, your first grade students will cover the following skills:
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Reading commonly used words for first graders
Subject verb agreement with both action and linking verbs
Editing for beginning capitalization, commas in a series, ending punctuation, and capitalization of names. (The number of edits is printed in the corner of this section to aid students in self-monitoring their progress)
Vocabulary: Identifying root words, identifying suffixes (s, ed, es, ing, er), identifying prefixes (dis, re, un, pre) and word analysis skills using the meanings of the prefixes.
Adding suffixes to root words (CVC, CVCC, and CVCe)
MATHEMATICS:
Solving story problems using a part/part/whole strategy, with the unknowns in different positions, addition and subtraction through 20.
Identifying tens and ones, addition of tens and ones, subtraction of tens and ones.
Drawing two dimensional shapes using word clues such as the number of sides and vertices.
Three digit addition with a model, and also in a story problem.
Ten more or ten less than a number
Determining whether equations are true or false
Identifying half of a shape
