This file includes an overall unit plan so that you can see the scope of the unit at a glance. The unit page includes an overarching goal that includes both the reading and social studies goal. I’ve included an integrated rubric for you to reference if you’d like as well.
There are two different printable anchor texts embedded in this unit for your use. Both feature the same pictures but, one text has higher reader and task demands than the other.
I’ve included targeted reading pages to work on the standards embedded in the text.
There are also picture vocabulary cards that can be printed individually for students and a set that can be displayed in the classroom.
You may create this in a large brown paper grocery bag, or in a folder with prongs. Directions for those options are included.
There’s an assessment and answer key provided.
