Welcome back to another Five for Friday Link Up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!!

Hello everyone!
Sorry I’ve been out of commission this week! :/  I’ve been so sick! ๐Ÿ™ I am still trying to work my way out of this flu bug…but…I’m basically still a hot mess.
So, here are five quick things…

1.) My husband brought me this at the grocery store because it’s my favorite! ๐Ÿ™‚  He took really good care of me on Thursday when I stayed home! ๐Ÿ™‚  I love this soup!

2. This week I reviewed the difference between long and short vowels.  Daina and I wrote a song about it to the tune of Gangnam Style.  Yeah…it’s as funny as you think it is! ๐Ÿ™‚  Hopefully, we will post on it this week! ๐Ÿ™‚  My administrator walked in on us while we were teaching it to the kids.  We were in Daina’s room…so I thought he was there to observe her.  I left pretty quickly after we finished, thinking that maybe he could observe her centers afterwards, but…he followed me out!  LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚  He was observing ME!  LOL.  He left me a note in the observation notes that said he really enjoyed it!  I got the highest mark for demonstrating enthusiasm! ๐Ÿ™‚  Woo hoo! ๐Ÿ™‚

Sunny Days in Second

Student Text Reads: We read. We colored. We got a carrot.
Then our  crazy teachers April Fooled us.

3. I finished my writing extension to go with the Lirpaloof activity that I got from Denise over at Sunny Days in Second Grade. This was a ‘quick write’ assignment that focused on sequencing. Daina made some tracers to match the clip art picture that Denise provided and we were off and running!  If you haven’t been over to visit her, please do! ๐Ÿ™‚  Click on her button to go to her blog page about the activity! ๐Ÿ™‚

4. So, I asked for folks to make suggestions about what I could do to help with my cold.  Someone suggested Neti Pot.  I’d never heard of it…so I googled it.  Low and behold…this is what I found.
Needless to say…I’m TRAUMATIZED! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚
Too funny! ๐Ÿ™‚
5. I’ve been working on a new set of phonics centers to review the long e patterns ee and ea.
I should be finished up this weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚
Hopefully, if I’m feeling a bit better…
Fingers crossed!

Hey Tamara! I have used a Neti pot and IT WORKS! But it feels SUPER funky and I don't like it. (P.S. That Neti Pot picture is a HILARIOUS Office episode!) Gangam style?? My kids would DIE! What a fabulous idea!! Glad I found your blog too!

Oh my gosh…Kerri…our kids DID die! ๐Ÿ™‚ It was awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚ They were SO into it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Go figure! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I'm a total cream puff and act silly all the time, but…this little idea took the cake! ๐Ÿ˜‰ It took Daina and I TWO HOURS to come up with those lyrics…so, I am so glad that they really did have a blast with it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for coming over! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think we need a video of your lesson! My kids would love that, but not sure I could pull it off, lol!
Hope you feel better soon ๐Ÿ™ I came down with the sniffles last night and I am beat. Going to snuggle up in front of the TV:)

      Aloha,

      Corrina…
So good to hear from you! ๐Ÿ™‚ Girlfriend…Daina and I are ON IT! ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL…if you couldn't pull it off…you can play the video we make for your kiddos and tell them about your crazy mainland teacher friends! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you're not getting what I got…It's pretty stinky! ๐Ÿ™ Hopefully, over the weekend I'll start feeling better. I went to bed at 7 and woke up an hour ago. That's how knocked out this bug has me. SMH.
Thanks for checking in on me! ๐Ÿ™‚

      XOXO
