Currently: A Linky with Farley from Oh Boy Fourth Grade!

September 3, 2012 by Tamara

Happy Labor Day to everyone!
Here is what’s happening in the Russell household today!
Now, to be clear, I was born a Mets fan, became a Yankees fan over the years–because the Mets weren’t really all that good except for a few years…and married into a CUBBY LOVIN’ FAMILY! ๐Ÿ™‚  Lately, I’ve been less than thrilled with the Cubs…they are losing…early and often.  They’ve also traded away ALL the players that I used to love.  ๐Ÿ™  So, I’ve had to come up with new Cubby loves! ๐Ÿ˜‰  So…my two favorite Cubs are…
Shortstop: Starlin Castro

and….

Pitcher: Jeff Samardzija

This picture totally needs to be made into a ‘Hey Teacher’ for Cubbies fans! ๐Ÿ˜‰  LOL!  These spring training pics can be a total HOOT!  I’ve been following Jeff’s career since he was a two sport athlete at Notre Dame. He came up with the Cubs and has finally made the starting line up! :0)  Sweet guy!  Really happy for him! ๐Ÿ˜‰  Starlin has been with Cubs for two years.   He’s the new face of the franchise now that they’ve traded my OTHER favorite player…Ryan Dempster. :/  They are restructuring the team, so…hopefully next season the fans will reap the rewards of the big changes going on in the clubhouse…

So…talking about gingerbread cookies….check out my yummy snack!

You didn’t think I actually ‘COOKED’ them myself did you?  Break and bake is the way to go, BABY! ๐Ÿ™‚  So delicious!  They were on sale too! ๐Ÿ™‚  My husband loves anything with ‘spice’ in the label.  I got these for the first time about six or seven months ago…they are really tasty.  The other pack I’m going to make for the students since we read ‘Gingerbread Pirates’ last week and some had never tasted gingerbread before! ๐Ÿ˜‰  Yum-O-la! ๐Ÿ™‚
So…WEDNESDAY…SEPTEMBER 19TH…INTERNATIONAL SPEAK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!
The students are learning some piratey songs and poems to share with their parents.  They are taking some piratey pictures next week…stay tuned for some serious cuteness in the next several days…We will even have a picnic with the parents when we are through!  A good time will be had by all! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Last thing…when I am feeling down…what do I do?  I read ‘Hey Teachers’ and crack myself up!  Now…normally, I would post some of my favorite Ryan Gosling ones, but…in tribute to my husband…who is a huge Godfather fan…I’ll post the two Brando ones that had us both in stitches!  Enjoy!
*The fact that my husband knows that these are photos from Streetcar Named Desire is so cute!  He’s like a walking encyclopedia of pop culture.  DO NOT play him in Trivial Pursuit people…he’s LETHAL!* ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm a huge baseball fan, too! I root for the Phillies, who aren't doing all that great right now. & you're right, that Cubs picture would make the perfect "Hey Girl.."

      I'm your newest follower! =)
