Learning about Friends

September 15, 2014 by Tamara

As always, thanks DeeDee for hosting this weekly link up! πŸ™‚ Β It’s fun to share what I’m doing each week with my parents and teacher/blogging buddies! πŸ™‚
This week was super fun!
Last week, I taught with my Wonders Supplemental Unit on Pets. Β We read TONS of texts, but my absolute favorite was Little Grunt and the Big Egg by Tomie dePaola.
To integrate some math into my reading block, I’ve focused on graphing for this first unit of the six from my basal series.
A few times a week, I have the kids start the reading time after graphing.

Have you ever seen these visual cue cards from Ashley Hughes over at the School Supply Addict? This is my second year using them, and this year I’ve really been implementing them more frequently.
I can not tell you how effective they have been in helping my ESE and ELL students!

This week, the kids and I are working on the concept of friends and how to resolve conflicts.

So, last week, I noticed that my bloggy buddyΒ Erica from Erica’s Teaching Edventures used her ACTUAL lesson plans for her post. Β I was hoping that it would save me some time this week…and you know what….
IT DID! πŸ™‚
Thanks, Erica!
XOXO

I’ve got to take a moment to celebrate my bloggy sister and true friend, Marie Cote from The Hands on Teacher in First! Β She hit her first TPT milestone recently and is celebrating it with a HUGE giveaway! πŸ™‚
I am so blessed by the community of teachers that I’ve met on this journey, but…Marie is just a special one that I’ve connected with! Β Just love her to bits, I tell ya! πŸ™‚
Check out the AWESOME that is her giveaway!
This was from Friday! πŸ™‚
