Helping Out Dawn

April 10, 2014 by Tamara

I wanted to write and tell you guys about something amazing that happened after something pretty awful.
This is my friend Dawn.
She is so much fun! ๐Ÿ™‚  She teaches first grade at a school across the county from me.  She was my very first mentor teacher when I moved to this county and encouraged me to get my National Board Certification! ๐Ÿ™‚
Love her! ๐Ÿ˜‰
She’s got two super great kids…Hailey and Ryan.
Two weeks ago, while Ryan was riding a gator with his granddad to get the Sunday morning paper, he fell off and hit his head.
Honestly, the most paralyzing feeling in the world is wanting to help and feeling helpless.  My heart immediately broke for Dawn in this situation.
She was told that Ryan would be in a coma for a few weeks before they could wake him, and she’d be out of school for the rest of the year.
I figured that I might be able to help her by gathering some things together for her classroom sub.
I really didn’t know who would volunteer…it was kind of a shot in the dark…but…boy oh boy!
After I asked a few friends, it was a windfall!
Since then, Ryan has been steadily improving and the doctors feel that in time, he should make a full recovery.
We don’t often get to celebrate each other, but I just wanted you guys to know that I have some of the most generous blogging buddies in the whole wide world! ๐Ÿ™‚
Here are the bloggers that lent an hand this week, and the packs that they so generously sent out to my sweet friend!

If you are not following these sweet ladies…you should be!  They are fabulous teachers…AAAAND fabulous people as well!
I know that Dawn is overwhelmed by all of the love and support that people have shown her sweet family this last two weeks.  She may never meet any of the bloggers or prayer warriors who have been with her in spirit on this journey, but…she thanks you with all of her heart!
Thanks for helping me not feel helpless girls.
Thanks for helping me love on my friend when she needed it!
Love you all so very, very much!
