Visual Plans: August 26-30

August 27, 2013 by Tamara

I’m linking up with DeeDee over at Mrs. Wills Kindergarten for this post! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Click HERE to see her visual plans for the week! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Monday Everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚  Sorry I’m a ‘wee’ bit late on these, but…I was working on my new citizenship pack and some sight word activities and it took me a little longer to wrap up than I thought it would! :/  I’m REALLY excited about how both came out though! ๐Ÿ™‚

The new sight word activity pack has collaborative grouping review games to play with the students.  I wanted them up and moving while they were learning.  I also wanted the kids to work on TALKING to each other about content. I started working with my first activity, ‘Read, Listen & Switch’ today, and they responded really well to it! ๐Ÿ™‚  The pack has activites that will work with the list of words from my August Morning Work pack…so, if you were wondering what I’m doing to teach the ‘Everyday Words’ in my room…this pack would be a great ‘peek’ into my room!
I started teaching about citizenship today as well! ๐Ÿ™‚
We talked about the following the rules and how a neighborhood community has rules just like a classroom community!  The books that we are reading all deal with school related topics, so this was just the thing I needed to tie in my social studies objectives for the week!

I’m covering ‘How to be a good citizen’, ‘How to talk to your friends about your feelings’–using the bug and wish concept, and the differences between ‘tattling and telling’.
The craftivity that I made to go with our citizenship writing is super fun…and really easy to put together! ๐Ÿ™‚  I think the kids will get a kick out of it! ๐Ÿ™‚
If you would like to check out some of the resources that I’m using, you can click HERE for the pdf version of my plans this week! ๐Ÿ™‚
Oops…I almost forgot!
