Common Core Chat: Breaking Down the Standards

August 13, 2013 by Tamara

Happy Back to School season to you all! ๐Ÿ™‚
I have been in my classroom for the last few days and it feels really great to be back! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Some of you may just be getting started with learning about Common Core…some of you may already be ‘old hat’.:)  Today’s installment of our Chat is all about breaking down the standards! ๐Ÿ™‚
One of the things that we did on our first grade team, was to take each standard and analyze them so that we could understand what the end goal was for each one.
Now, I’ll tell you that we are learning as we go, so…some things that we thought last year may become more nuanced over time…you will find that is probably true of you, too, as you are learning.  Check out this video I made about how to use my common core standard analysis sheet! ๐Ÿ™‚
If you would like an editable copy of the sheet itself…check out the recent post I did about it HERE.
Click HERE for a link to the YOU TUBE video on how to use the form.
