Blog Hoppin’ Day 1: Meet the Teacher

August 12, 2013 by Tamara

I’m linking up with the fine folks over at Blog Hoppin’ to share some newsy bits about me and my classroom adventures! ๐Ÿ™‚
Today’s topic is Meet the Teacher!
This is me in first grade…sans a few teeth! ๐Ÿ™‚  It was a great year! ๐Ÿ™‚
Miss Hoffmann was my teacher and she was SO WONDERFUL! ๐Ÿ™‚
I was able to be her teacher’s assistant when I was in high school as an elective.
I loved every minute of it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I went to Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.
Made some really great friends along the way! ๐Ÿ™‚

My husband Chris and I met on line in 2004.  At the time, he lived in Minnesota.  He moved to Florida and we’ve been together ever since! ๐Ÿ™‚
We ‘eloped’…hence there are no big, white dress pictures! ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s been a wild ride, but…I wouldn’t trade him for anything! ๐Ÿ™‚
Love him to pieces! ๐Ÿ™‚

I started the National Boards process in 2009.  I missed getting the certificate by four points.
I dusted myself off, and started again in 2010.
I earned it on the second time around…with plenty of points to spare.
I’m a better teacher because of the journey!
I would totally encourage anyone to try it!
Some other random facts about me would include that I am a sports junkie.  I really love college football!:)
I am a Florida Gators fan! ๐Ÿ™‚
The hubs and I try to go to one bowl game each season! ๐Ÿ™‚  Last year, we went to see Michigan play USC.  It was a great game.  Those of you who love football will remember the big hit that Clowney put on that poor guy from Michigan.
Yeah…I saw that LIVE…thought he’d die…but…he jumped right up and kept on playing…
I love all things HBO…
Sunday night programming is the soundtrack to me making my lesson plans! ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m surprised vampires, mobsters, or dragons have not made their way in there accidentally!
Strangely enough…
I am one of the rare teachers I know that does not enjoy shopping.
I only go when I have to.
I wear the same shoes every day.
I am not into make up…unless it is picture day…or I have a parent conference.  I am completely LOW maintenance.
Last but not least…I love my mommy…I mean….a LOT.  I talk to her almost EVERY DAY.
She reads my blog all the time…and totally loves sending me things to spoil her ‘grand-students’.
She sent me a care package recently with over 1,000 pirate stickers!! So fun! ๐Ÿ™‚
Well…those are a few newsy bits from my corner of the world!
Can’t wait to hear yours!
