Five for Friday {May 24, 2013}

May 25, 2013 by Tamara

 photo fiveforfriday7_zps0bd40da5.jpgHello everyone!
I hope you’re looking forward to the weekend as much as I am!  On Friday, I started cleaning up my room for the end of the year.  I’ve put it off long enough…but, it’s time.  I’ve got eight days left and three of the eight, will be half days…so, if the kiddies are going to help me…I’ve got to get crackin!

So…without further ado…let me tell you a little bit about my week! :0)

1.) Last Saturday I went to the Scholastic Book Fair in Lake Mary, Florida!  What a treat! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ya’ll know that Daina (from Sticky Notes and Glitter) is my teaching bestie! ๐Ÿ™‚  I couldn’t go spend money on books without her!  So…coffee in hand…we hit the road! ๐Ÿ™‚  We were able to get some really great deals!  The students have been very excited about reading them this week.
2.) In class, I wrapped up my instruction with some lessons on non-standard measurement!  Thank goodness for Marie over at

We traded resources and I was able to use her non-standard units lessons with my kids, along with some other things that I’d whipped up forthe students as well.  Here we made a chain out of twenty paper clips and measured common items in the classroom.  Our white board is about 110 paper clips long! WOWZA!

3.)  We worked on Memorial Day crafts! And wrote cards to a sweet friend of mine who is in the military.  More to come on that next week! ๐Ÿ™‚

4.) I’ve been busy working on product creation this week as well.  I’ve been making some really neat papers.

These are the papers that are featured in the newsletter!

5.)  I’m super excited that I’ll be featured in the Teachers Pay Teacher’s Newsletter this weekend!  Thank you, Daina for checking on Pinterest and telling me! ๐Ÿ™‚  I was hooting and hollering at recess so loudly…the children thought I’d lost my mind! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hooray for me! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you need additional ‘patriotic’ themed papers…these are also in my store for sale.
I hope that you’re having a wonderfully restful holiday weekend!
I know I am due for a much needed break, but…that will come as soon as I’m done with my June Morning Work Pack! ๐Ÿ™‚
Look for that soon!
