Five for Friday {April 19, 2013}

April 19, 2013 by Tamara

 photo fiveforfriday7_zps0bd40da5.jpgHappy Weekend to you all! ๐Ÿ™‚ So glad that it’s FRIDAY! ๐Ÿ™‚  I am linking up with Doodle Bugs teaching for another fun Five for Friday post! ๐Ÿ™‚  So, five random things…

1.) This week, we started working on my new complex text read aloud plans for How People Learned to Fly.  I paired that with the matter and movement chapter from our science basal.  The kids really liked what I’d put together for the first several days! :0)  It’s always nice to see them get excited about what I make! ๐Ÿ™‚
2.) This was my story on Tuesday…
So not cool! ๐Ÿ™  Had a fever when I came home from work on Monday, so, I just called it a wrap and wrote up sub plans.
3. On Wednesday, I got a chance to train other K and 1 teachers on what a reading block looks like for common core and what the reading block would look like.  We have a team of teachers at our school, one or two from each grade level that does research on common core and then train others.
So much fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

4. Today was my formal observation…and it went really well! ๐Ÿ™‚  This meme captures part of what happened today! ๐Ÿ™‚
5.) Last week, Daina & I started teaching the kids a song we wrote to the tune of Gangnam Style.
The kids are absolutely obsessed with it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Did I make this meme for me & my teaching bestie?  Oh yes, I did! ๐Ÿ™‚
LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Love your reason for why the students were taking. Made me smile.
