Tamara’s Halloween Favorites

FAVORITE BOOK
So…since Halloween is about all things scary…I thought I’d suggest a not so scary book that my mother read to me as a child that I share with my students each year! ๐Ÿ™‚  Throughout the course of the book, Grover is scared to meet the monster at the end of the book.  He talks to the children and tells them not to turn the pages…even puts up walls to stop them from turning the pages–which of course makes the kids WANT to turn the pages! ๐Ÿ™‚ By the end, Grover discovers that the monster is HIM! ๐Ÿ™‚  Just a precious story!
FAVORITE SEASONAL SNACK
Sweet potato cupcakes with cream cheese frosting…just delish!
FAVORITE HALLOWEEN CANDY
Hands down, Bracht’s candy corn.  I can totally tell if its not that brand…seriously.  It’s the best ever! ๐Ÿ™‚  And…no…indian corn does NOT taste the same. ๐Ÿ˜‰  I’ve got a very discerning candy corn palette! ๐Ÿ™‚
FAVORITE HALLOWEEN FREEBIES
Aimee Salazar’s Halloween Bingo
Aimee Salazar’s Halloween Bingo is super cute and easy to squeeze in with the rest of your Halloween activities.
Christine Statzel’s Halloween Math Morning Work
Christine’s coloring sheets for addition and subtraction are a great way to start the morning!  Super cute and quick to do!  Great for a quickie bulletin board when they are done, too. ๐Ÿ™‚
Spill it Freebie on Teacher’s Pay Teachers
Positively Learning’s ‘Spill it’ Literacy Center is a cute little addition for your literacy stations this week!  Check it out! ๐Ÿ˜‰
My Halloween Poetry Journal Freebie

If you’ve been a fan of my poetry journal anthologies…here is my ‘Halloween Edition’, complete with a version of ‘The 12 Days of Halloween’. (Not written by yours truly, but still really good stuff!)

So, here are the awesome blogs that I’m BOO-ing!
Definitely check them out!

Mrs. Pretzel’s Super Second Grade Bugs
Mrs. Pretzel is a second grade teacher in her fifth year of teaching.  Her fresh ideas  and  passion for her students is evident in every blog posting.  I learn something new every time I visit.  Check her out!
Monica’s Class-Treasure’s for Teaching
Monica is a ‘piratey’ sister at arms!  I can’t help loving other teachers with a piratey theme!  It’s part of my pirate DNA! ๐Ÿ™‚
She teaches first grade too and always has something interesting to share on her site!  Check her out!
Thanks for sticking with me for this long post! ๐Ÿ™‚  Have a wonderful Halloween week! ๐Ÿ˜‰
