This is one of my favorite units!  I’ve been to 42 of the 50 states and have taken tons of pictures, made mini-videos, collected souvenirs and maps.  Every year I put more into this unit.  We made satchels out of brown paper bags from the supermarket that contained regional maps and souvenirs of our travels.  I created ‘satchel stickers’ of the places we visited so that students could glue them to the outside of the bags as we traveled.  This was another take off of Beth Newingham’s activity ‘A Regional Tour of the United States’.  Check out my cuties when we visited Maine!  We went to the Lobster Festival…had biscuits that I made from scratch with real blueberry jam that I’d made after having picked the blueberries MYSELF!  Each of them was able to add a post card shot of themselves dressed as a lobsterman–or woman! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here I am picking blueberries like a champ!
Sweet Mariah! ๐Ÿ™‚  What a cutie!  She LOVES having her picture taken!   Man do I miss my class right now! :/  They were such sweeties! ๐Ÿ™‚  We really DID have a ball together! :0)
