Long Range Plans for Third

October 1, 2016 by Tamara

Hello fellow educators! 🙂

One of the best ways that I’ve found to stay on top of what I am doing throughout the year is to have long range plans.  I have them for first grade, and now I have them for third as well! 🙂Year At A Glance Template

We have a county curriculum pacing guide in our district, which makes things a bit easier for me, but as I am determining which resources I’m going to use to cover specific standards, a long range plan template helps me to look ahead so that I can be prepared.

The very first pages in my document are my year at a glance pages.  At my school, I am teaching in a personalized learning unit.  This document helps my coach know the direction that I’m taking weeks in advance.  It’s very easy to see where I am quickly.  I love these sheets!

My year at a glance pages include reading, math and aYear At a Glance Template blend of science & social studies.  I went ahead and put in the days that we’d be on break so that I could have that ahead of time as well!

The actual plans themselves are aligned to the Florida State Standards.  I put the standard numbers throughout so that the admin team and coaches can see what I’m planning at a glance.  Of course, I’m still required to do more explicit weekly plans, but these are a great way to showcase my overarching goals and pacing for the year.

Year At A Glance - Third Grade slide5 slide6The long range plans themselvesLong Range Plans for Third are colorful and explicit.  They include ELA, Math, Science & Social Studies.  I put the standard numbers in for easy reference and the school calendar and important dates along the side.  The ELA section includes a standard for reading, phonics, grammar, writing, and even cursive writing if you’re interested in teaching that throughout the year!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and checking out my year at a glance plans.

UPDATE: Looking for my more recent 2018-2019 plans?

If you want to see my own progression you can get the PDF of that HERE.

If you want the template for what I did so that you can do it for yourself, please click HERE. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU SAVE THIS FILE AS A COPY. IF NOT, YOU’RE CHANGING THE TEMPLATE FOR OTHERS THAT COME BEHIND YOU AND THEN I HAVE TO REUPLOAD.  HELP A SISTER OUT, OKAY?? 🙂
