BTS Writing Craft
Thanks for joining me for Mrs. Wills’ weekly linky “Peek at my Week“! This week, we started working in our basal texts for the first time!  They are all such great readers! 🙂  I was so impressed with how our first week went!

This week, I was able to start using my focus wall resources to guide my instruction!
This worked so well in my room this week, and I’m really excited about how well the students are starting to make connections to what we are learning as well.

My writing craft turned out well! 🙂
It was a super quick one. The students were able to finish it up with me in their 15 minute writing center rotation! 🙂
If you’d like to try too, click HERE.
Something new that we are doing in our district is having a ‘finished product’ that relates to the reading stories of the week.  Each week, the students respond in writing to what we’ve read all week.  I came up with a simple rubric to help my students understand the basic expectations I have for the first few writings.

I taught my students how to self-monitor this week.  They used this rubric to help peer edit each other’s work.  It was a successful week for writing!
Next up….my visual plans!

Last, but certainly not least…
