All About Plants

May 15, 2013 by Tamara

This week, I’ve been teaching my students All About Plants! ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s been a fun and challenging week for us.  We’re finishing up our yearly diagnostic testing in reading AND doing all kinds of fun things with plants!  It’s been super busy, but these resources below have really saved my life! ๐Ÿ™‚

First up…Plant & Flower Activities for Young Learners by Rebecca Anderton.

This is a ‘must have’ for teaching about plants!  There is so much packed into this unit!

This is 178 pages of solid gold goodness! ๐Ÿ™‚

There’s lots of reading and writing activities, but she’s also put in some really sweet science activites that my kids are just dying to dig into! ๐Ÿ™‚  Check out my Five for Friday linky post this week! ๐Ÿ™‚  I’ll be sharing some pictures then! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, some quick and easy centers from Angelica Potter!

Here’s a link to them on TPT!

I love these centers so much I can’t even tell ya! ๐Ÿ™‚  There are six different centers for the students to use that are color coded for easy clean up and storage! ๐Ÿ™‚  There was one on fact and opinion, singular & plural words, plant parts and riddles, past-present-and future tense, phrase vs. sentence, and possessives.  Each center has a recording sheet for students to show their learning! ๐Ÿ™‚

Many of you know that my mom was with me last week…a future blog post is coming on her adventures with the children…but…because of that, I really didn’t have all that much time to make something to enhance our basal science text.  These two resources saved me so much time, I can’t even tell you.  It’s a wonderful thing to be part of an online community of teachers willing to share their work with us! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you ladies for what you’ve done for me this week! ๐Ÿ™‚
I am in your debt! ๐Ÿ™‚
