Mornin’ everyone!
Welcome to my very first blog posting! Ever! In my whole life! ๐
I’ve been so inspired by the work of other teachers using this medium to connect with others and have decided to jump in as well! Although I enjoy creating curriculum, and will share some of my classroom ideas as we go forward, I’m committed to using this medium as a way to connect teachers who are interested in professional development through learning communities. I’m a reader, and would love to read a book or two this summer that will help me as I work to navigate the new Common Core standards my state is rolling out in the fall. For the last four years, I’ve been a third grade teacher…this year, I’m transitioning to first grade! I can’t wait to meet my new students and experience the joy of reading with each one of them! Today on my agenda is finishing up this blog formatting…and getting my teachers pay teachers page set up!
This afternoon, I’ll be working in my garden a bit. My poor plants…during the day they get scorched and at night they are drenched. Ah, the joys of Florida! ๐
