Happy Monday to you all! ๐ I hope this post finds you all well! ๐ I’m kicking off week two of my summer vacation with a flurry of activity! ๐ I’ve been having a great time so far! If you are not on vacation yet…your time is coming! ๐ So today I’m linking up with Sabra over at Teaching with a Touch of Twang for her weekly linky, Must Have Mondays!
My MUST HAVE? Morning Work! ๐ This summer, I’ve been working on my morning work packs for next school year. I am really committed to having morning work that is not just busy work, but supports the instruction going on in my classroom. I didn’t start making my own morning work until April of last year, and it really became a staple. The kids really liked it, and it was so helpful in reviewing what I was doing in the class in the weeks prior. In each pack, I cover common core aligned skills in a meaningful progression. After four lesson sheets, I have a fifth sheet that is designed to review skills and is usually some kind of coloring page. The kids LOVED the coloring pages! ๐ The front side is a blend of ELA Skills, the back covers math content. Check out the product descriptions to see what I am covering in each pack!
Right now I have the April, May, June and August packs out. I am working on September and October as well!

I am also linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics for her linky, ‘Monday Made It’! Tonight is a big night in the Russell house. It’s game three of the Blackhawks game. In one of my earlier posts, I talked about how my husband is even growing a playoff beard in solidarity with his team! ๐ It’s been fun! So, tonight I wanted dinner to be quick and easy, so we could have time to relax and watch the game! I ran out to our local grocery store and check out what the sample lady was cookin’ up. Let me tell ya people, she was cookin’ up goodness! ๐ Lemon Herb Chicken with a Veggie Fry Salad. So, after Chris & I sampled, we filled up our basket with the things we needed and headed home. The chicken was super tender and the salad was made with arugula. Chris really doesn’t like veggies, but he totally ate the salad and the fried eggplant on top! ๐ I was so excited! ๐ It was super tasty and quick to make! ๐ I took out the sun-dried tomatoes and substituted cranberries, because I like cranberries better, but it would be fine either way I think. Click on the caption under the picture to check out the recipe yourself! Thanks for stopping in! ๐
