Hello Fellow Educators!
This is a PROGRESSIVE BUNDLE of my black history month resources! 🙂 This is probably my favorite topic to teach on all year! 🙂 The bundle represents resources that I’ve been using and reworking for the last several years. It just gets to be more fun every time I share my love of this with my students! Included in this pack are my MLK Literacy Unit, my Underground Railroad Unit, and my MLK Sentence Scramble Freebie. There are also two packs of fluency passages. One is for high first grade the other is for high second.
Included in each pack are 10 fluency passages on black history month studies. Ten passages are high first grade, the other ten are for high second grade. Each passage has 4 oral comprehension questions and 3 written comprehension questions that require text coding. There’s also one internet research question for each passage. This question can not be answered from the text, but requires the student to use the internet to provide a response.
When the bundle is complete, there will be An MLK Literacy Unit, an Underground Railroad Literacy Unit, an MLK Sentence Scramble and 20 fluency passages that can be used throughout the month of February–or whenever you choose to study those people or themes.
Use these for enrichment/remediation homework.
Use them in guided reading groups to support seasonal themes.
Parents and students love this format!
I hope that you’ll enjoy using them with your students as well!
