I’ve got to admit, before the summer started…this is exactly what would have typified me! LOL!
I determined that I would get in shape this summer…specifically before my trip to Las Vegas for the TPT convention. So, I dug out my old workout clothes, prayed to the Lord that they would still fit…and went to work. When I was on vacation in Amelia Island, I took my first yoga class.
I really didn’t know what to expect.
It was…to say the least…something else! LOL
That’s kind of an understatement.
I was sweating in places that I didn’t know I could sweat, but…I’d done it! 🙂
It was a good experience…but it was the only type of yoga they had…and after that one time, I was pretty sure I wanted to try ‘cold yoga’.
This brings me to my workout tip for today!
Working out is always better with friends! 🙂 Especially friends who actually LIKE to work out!
They can help keep you motivated, and will push you to stick with what you committed to! 🙂
You guys might remember the post I did on Christine? She’s the doctoral student? She’s a great workout buddy! 🙂 Brooke who is right next to me, is our yoga teacher! 🙂 She’s also my pastor’s wife and a super wonderful workout enthusiast! 🙂 Cathy is next to Christine, and we’ve worked together for years! 🙂 She’s super excited about getting fit with us…so, our merry band meets up at the gym as often as possible for classes! 😉 Love these ladies! 🙂
I’ve also found that drinking water often has helped me in a TON of ways!

You remember me telling you about how I put fruit in my water? Well, that’s kinda the only way that I drink it anymore. Then if I get hungry, I just eat the fruit at the end of the day! LOL!
I like to have something sweet, without putting something in my water that isn’t as good for me as fruit.
I’ve also been trying to eat healthier! I’ve gotten some of my other girlfriends into it with me! 🙂
I had them over the other day for a little ‘salad bar’ party!
This was a great way for us to all eat healthy…and do it on our own terms!
I cooked up some chicken, and then diced up lots of goodies to put in the salad!
We got to choose what we were putting in the salad…even the dressing! 🙂
I got a new sangria recipie that I just had to try out, and it was delish!
We also finished up with homemade ice cream! 🙂
Good thing I was working out the following morning…
