Happy Saturday, Everyone!
Thank you to the lovely Mrs. Stanford for hosting this great product swap! π
This is my second swap, and since my first experience was so lovely, I thought I’d do it again! π
This time, I got the chance to swap with the lovely ladies over at…
Now, if you’ve never visited their blog, Tamra and Sarah are two North Carolina teachers with a heart for firsties! π They have some lovely products in their store! π
There were lots of great things to look at…but I had to pick just one…
so I went with…
I LOVE teaching grammar! π Really…I do! π So this pack was perfect to review the things that I’ve already taught, but it would also be a wonderful support to your established curriculum throughout the year! π If you need support in teaching grammar…this is a pack that covers EVERYTHING you could ever want! π
Those of you who follow me, know that I love a well-aligned resource! π
These resources meet ELA Literacy L.1.1–which are the English Grammar Conventions standards.
There are 135 pages of LOVE in this pack people! π
This pack includes anchor charts for nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, conjunctions, & determiners!
Each section also contains lots and lots of sorting activities for the kids! π
I LOVE SORTING! π
In the nouns section, the kids will learn have the opportunity to learn all about common vs. proper nouns & even possessives! π
Next up…VERBS!
One fun activity was having the students write a verb that starts with the first letter of their name! π
The kids also work on the tricky subject of past, present and future tense! I really loved the ideas for this! π They would be great to introduce the concept, and then stick them in a center for the kids to practice with! π
A strategy that I use often in my classroom is text annotation or coding. Tamra & Sarah had a great little sheet where the kids were able to color code for nouns, verbs, and adjectives. This was a really great review for us at this time of the year and the kids really loved it! π
My firsties and I have only explored the nouns, verbs and adjectives activites and we’re not even half way done with all this goodness! π
The rest of the pack includes anchor charts for conjunctions, determiners, prepositions, and the four types of sentences!
To give instruction on these key common core elements, there are…
WORKSHEETS
SORTS
CLOZE FORM CENTERS
CUT AND PASTE PRINTABLES
TEXT CODING PRINTABLES
IDEAS FOR TEACHING THE FOUR SENTENCE TYPES
AND
STUDENT WORK SAMPLES!
Next up for my firsties??
There is so much thought and great teaching put into this pack! It is an absolute MUST HAVE for a teacher of firsties! I am so thankful that I was paired with these two wonderful educators! This resource will be invaluable to me as I look toward evaluating my children’s progress towards meeting the common core standards with this tool! π
Thank you Tamra & Sarah for the love and dedication you put into this piece for my firsties, and for others who will use it! π It’s just marvelous!!
Go on over and check this out friends! π It is SO WORTH IT! π
