Football themed freebie & CURRENTLY!

Happy New Year Everyone! 🙂

Hope you all had a safe and healthy time out and about with friends and family! 🙂 I had a great time! 🙂 My husband surprised me with tickets to the Outback Bowl at Christmas. It was a great getaway for us, since I was away at Christmas this year. We had such a good time. We stayed at a little B&B in Gulfport that we really like to ring in the New Year, and then we headed out to the game! 🙂

If you have not already guessed, I am a HUGE college football fan! 🙂 I live in Florida, so, I’m pretty much an SEC girl, but I can’t help but cheer for the Irish when they are on TV or the Michigan Wolverines either. I guess it’s just the history and tradition of both teams that gets to me. We’ve never done anything like going to a game before…the whole thing was so exciting. I really hope we can afford to do it again next year. It was really great! 🙂

My favorite aunt LOVES QVC…and ever since she retired…she’s been quite the shopper. She got us these really soft blankets that we wrap up in whether it is hot or not…it’s pretty cute. 🙂

Chris said that he’d take me to see the new Les Mis’ movie before school starts…I hope we will be able to do it! 🙂 Les Mis’ is my favorite musical of all time. Whenever people ask me what I would do if I were not teaching…I say, I’d play Eponine in the Broadway revival of Les Mis’.

So, when I saw Farley’s post, I thought the one little word would be about something that I wanted to do, or try to embrace in the future. When I read Ali’s blog post, I came to understand that the word should be more than that. So…what defines me ‘currently’…that I hope will continue to define me for the near term? Ambitious…I want to be ambitious about everything…I want to pursue Christ with a great deal of ambition…I want to be ambitious about learning the new common core standards and implementing them in a way that is effective for my students…I want to be ambitious in pursuing all of the good that can be found in my marriage and my relationship with my husband…just all out…going for it all in every area. 🙂 (This is probably why my first word was rest, ya’ think?)

I’ve set some pretty lofty goals for myself, but…like I tell the kids…if you aim high, you’ll get higher than you would have if you just aimed low.

I am working on some super cute football themed centers since I’m such a football maniac! 🙂 Thought they would be fun for my kiddos. Here’s a preview file freebie of one of the centers! 🙂 Enjoy….and…happy bowl game watching! 🙂

Hi! You make a cute couple! How fun! I am a football fan…but not college…I'm a Dallas Cowboys Fan all the way! Never been to Texas, never been to a DC game. Oh well, a girl can dream!   Thanks for the compliment, Autumn! 🙂 My co-teacher, Daina is a Cowboys fan. Poor thing…they get so close to doing really great…and then they don't. As a die-hard Giants fan, I only feel badly about it because I love her THAT MUCH! 🙂 Hee hee hee! 🙂 We're out too, so…she and I…..and you too, actually…can commiserate together! 🙂 Thanks for following me! 🙂 Welcome to my happy little bunch! 🙂 Can't wait to go see about your adventures too! 🙂

I just found your blog through Farley's January Currently linky. I am excited that I am now one of your newest followers. I like your OLW too! I especially appreciate your desire to "pursue Christ with a great deal of ambition"! I need that to be a part of my daily prayer. I need to pray that for my 17 and 20 year old too.

What fun! I'm not a huge football fan, but I do love my college team (Louisiana Tech). I went to their bowl game back in '08, and had a BLAST. I'm a bit bitter this year about bowls in general, though, because they were 9-3 and didn't get a bowl game. Oh, well. Next year! 🙂 I enjoyed reading your currently post!

Thanks for your response to my Currently post! 🙂 They did have a good season, but…you know that the BCS hates 'busters'. 🙁 I am looking forward to the playoff system. It will be nice to see teams really get a shot at playing that normally get passed over! 🙂 Maybe your 'Dogs will get that bowl game you missed out on this time around! 🙂
